Kuja danced through the ruins of what was once the great Alexandria Castle. The moon looked the same as it did that night Bahamut was summoned and began destroying the entire city. Smirking devilishly, Kuja was entranced by the sight of the destruction. But his inner festivities were crushed when he heard noises from inside the ruins. He tilted his head to the side and strode through the main gate and entered what used to be the main hall. As he strode through the main hall, he heard voices. One in particular, was very familliar to him. His mind danced with glee as he found his way to the location of the voices. Upon reaching a door, Kuja held up his hand to the door and pressed against the door with his outstretched hand. He sent a surge of magic through his arm into the door to blast it open. He walked through the dust and saw a man standing infront of a woman. The man was in armor, and reminded him of one of the people that traveled with his brother. He smirked as he laid his eyes on the woman.
"Oh my... Princess, what are you doing here? Are you having fun in this destruction? This place is not suited for you.."
After he spoke to Garnet, he returned his attention to the man in armor. He noticed the stone in his hand and his smirk faded away. He knew what that stone was, and what it could do.
"You... I'm not in the mood for caring who you are, but if you were smart, you'd return that stone to the princess. Or I might have to do something about it."

"No I can't,they're in the treasurey".
Jumping she gave a small "eep" when the door was blown open, coughing from the dust that had floated into her old room adding to the already dust covered things she frowned. There was only one person she knew who could summon that much magic, and keeping that frown on her lips her eyes watched the man walk or rather glide into the room.
"I would appreciate it if you didn't add to the destruction, and if I was having fun I would be laughing".
She was of course being sarcastic, but then again he wasn't the one at the end of a gun here.Garnet wanted to try and preserve what was left of her castle, but with him coming in and just blasting a door open with his magic it wasn't helping the situation.
"Please don't get carried away".

Siegfried made an audible “tch” when Garnet mentioned that the goods to be traded were in her vault. His annoyance subsided when he realized this would mean getting access to the vault, which he had not hit yet. His plan had been to take everything left standing today, then concoct something strong enough to blast open the doors and loot the treasury later. With a slight shrug, he began to respond when the door opposite of them splintered in a magnificent explosion.
Siegfried reflexively moved as if to shield the girl, but stopped partway when he realized that the blast was not nearly powerful enough to harm them anyway. Backing away and attempting to play it off as nothing, he raised his gun so that its aim was directed to the newcomer. Though one could not see it thanks to his helmet, his eye was slightly wider with surprise. His teeth were gritted to match. The hell? Did he just blow up that door? This girl claimed to be a summoner......magicite?
However, in spite of his feelings, he managed to look casual about the situation. With his gun still trained on the tailed man he let the pendant dangle again, eyeing it casually. “This? I was actually about to swap the rock off. Mind if we wait for this to play out? I kinda want my money’s worth.”

This man in armor seemed to try and frighten Kuja. He noticed the man holding the stone as if it were a mere piece of jewelry. After the man said his plans for the stone Kuja approached him and lightly grabbed his wrist. Kuja's hand began to glow from the magic surging through his arm. His eyes crept from the stone to the man's helmet around where his eyes would be.
"Like I said, return the stone to the dear Princess, or I will have to force you."
Kuja chuckled slightly as he spoke quietly. His eyes began to morph and the color started to change. If anyone aside form him knew what was going to happen, it would be Zidane and Garnet. Their previous encounter ended shortly after Kuja manifested into this form. Even though his eyes were changing, his body wasn't. His magic just seemed to cut right trough the air and apply pressure the the immediate area.

"Kuja i'm sure there is a better way to solve this, besides hurting him".
Yes she wanted her pendant back, more then anything since it was basically all she had left of her kingdom.Even though she had found out she was really from the village of the summoners, and that she was actually a replacement for the real Garnet. She hadn't cared, she had called Alexandria home and took the duty that was given to her.
"I know there is honor among thieves, but all I ask is that you please give me the pendant then no one would need to get hurt".

Siegfried’s arm tensed as the man, identified as Kuja by the princess, gripped it. His first reaction should have been to shoot the guy through his gut with the opposite hand, but he found that he could not. His body would not respond to thought. Everything traveled through his brain at a crawl. His single working eye was dilated, its gaze quivering. His armor seemed heavier somehow. The air in his very lungs felt like it weighed ten pounds. Was this magic? Had some spell been cast upon him to dull his body and mind? Or was it.....
Fear. Sweat began to appear under the armor. Magic may be amplifying it, but I am deathly afraid of this guy! Finally, with a bit of a grunt, the thief pulled his arm free and staggered back, unable to hide his heavy breathing. His gaze was trained upon Kuja, his gun sagged to the ground. After a moment of collecting himself, he spoke. “Screw it.” Finding he could act as if nothing had happened, he tossed the pendant to Garnet as he walked between her and the newcomer on his way out. “The damn thing didn’t look that valuable anyway. I’d have to beg to get more than 100 Gil for it.”
Raising his gun to the side, a pair of quick volleys blew out the frontmost legs of the wardrobe. Siegfried holstered the weapon and used the newly freed hand to catch the bag, previously resting atop the armoire, as the large oaken behemoth toppled over. He waved a sort of salute as he slung the bag over one shoulder. “Have fun with your trinket, kid.” He then stepped out of the newly demolished door, heading down the hall to raid more of the castle as if nothing had happened.

Kuja smiled as the man left to room and now Kuja was alone with the princess. But as he turned towars her, he realized that the man was a thief. How could he be so slow to see that? It doesn't matter. Kuja will just end up destrying the room that the armored was in, just to keep him there and drive him mad.
"Well Princess... Is there anything here that is also special to you? That man... He just might be as compassionate about you as I am."
Kuja turned and placed his index finger infront of his mouth as he smirked. He tryed to figure out if Garnet would realize what he meant. Kuja then began to seemingly glide to the door with his hand outstretched waiting for her to lead the way.

She caught the pendant and held it close, this meant alot to her a real lot.It wasn't just some trinket,it was the royal family's heirloom and someday she would pass it on to her son or daughter.Putting it around her neck, she sighed in relief if she had lost this she would have broken her promise to her mother.
"Just this, and my summoning staff. That is all I wanted from here Kuja, there is nothing more then sad memories within these walls".
Heading towards the door, staff gripped in her hands she took one last look back at the room. She would probably come back once in awhile, but she knew she couldn't dwell on the past.It was gone and now it was time to move foreward, and find her other friends she had hoped survived as well.
"Let's go".

Siegfried cracked his neck on either side, deciding to clean the rest of the place out before anyone else decided to meddle. Anyone powerful, that was. He could take the common man or the random guard. But that guy with the tail......and the royal claimed she was a summoner. He had never been lucky enough to stumble across magicite, but it seemed that he was up against two people who could use it. But then, if the girl was a magicite user, why had she not used some of the magic that came with it like Kuja had?
She specifically called herself a summoner. Maybe her Esper doesn’t have any magic to give? Does it work like that?
Somewhat frustrated at the way things were and wanting to just get it over with, Siegfried stopped at the next door and unceremoniously kicked it open. The thing fell off its hinges and toppled to the floor, stirring up a storm of dust with a thunderous crash to match. He strode in, winding the sack back around for some more pillaging.

Kuja followed the Princess with his eyes as she slowly stepped out of the room. He was entranced by himself. He had never acted out of compassion for the princess, even though she was his 'little canary'. His actions weren't necesarily out of compassion as much as they were out of interest for the magicite. He eyed the ruined hall as he and Garnet walked about the old castle. Kuja spoke in his usua omniscent voice which echoed through the ruins.
"My little canary, how does it feel to finally be out of your cage? To finally do and go wherever it is that you please? When you traveled with my brother, you were always stuck with going where everyone else did."

"It feels different,I had always been following other people's orders and felt like I was in a cage all the time".
But being around Zidane, travelling with him she felt true freedom. When Zidane had said goodbye that time after the incident with Kuja, and when he hadn't come back she thought for sure he had died. And when he did come back to the castle, with the Tantalus group she was both angry and relieved that he had survived.
"I thought for certain Zidane had perished,he loves you very much even though he will not truly show it".
It was true that Kuja had been evil, mean and downright dirty. But she could see he has changed even just abit if not at all,she walked with her hands behind her back and looked around the ruined hall.Every item held a memory, every step made her recall events that happened.

Kuja smiled as Garnet spoke. His only feelings were of hate, even though there were people that 'cared' for him. His visage showed only enjoyment out of what others called torturing them. He shook his head and danced in his evil ways as he thought of what to do wih his little bird. Even though she had left Alexandria, tonight she had flown back into her cage out of her own free will.
"That may be, but my brotherly love for him hasn't changed since we were on Terra. It's destruction had gotten quite a ride out of he and myself."

"But we're not there anymore,we're in this strange new place".
Garnet kinda didn't like this new world, even though they could never turn back time and stop this. She headed for the exit of the castle, where she would go from here was probably towards this crystal capital. All refugees had to register there, and last time she was there she didn't register but got sidetracked by a cute little trinket but didn't buy it.

Kuja stooped and began to think of this strange new world. People had to register? Ha. He would sooner kiss the Dragon Knight of Brumecia than register for the sake of this, 'Crystal Capitol'. Scoffing at that thought he looked at Garnet and paused to tilt his head to the side in question of her destination.
"So, canary... Where might you go now? Register at the Capitol? I certainly hope not. I'd hate to see my brother's face when he finds out that I killed you by accident when I destroy that place."

She stopped and unfolded her hands from behind her back, why did he want to cause destruction. She for one didn't want to cause trouble here,it would only make the people of this capital hate them and then kill.Garnet wanted to make a good impression first,if they in turn decided to act rash then by all means fight back.
"No I won't go there, please Kuja no more destruction".
She seemed to have a pleading look in her eyes, for once could he just learn to lay low and not blow something up.She turned and started to walk again, and a sigh escaped her lips.Did he have to keep calling her canary, she had a name why doesn't he use it.
